to be honnest if you went out and voted Green just because you don't like the other 3 options then when green start winning seats they will pull themself's together. Abstaining from voting just means that they don't need to pursuade as many people to vote for them. tell them to fuck off by voting for the party that should never get into power
VOTE HIB - VOTE GREEN!

not sure about the green party
yes some of their stuff is viable and nice but most of it is complete garbage.
Cant remember what turned me but i used to support the green party (in theory) before i could vote. First year i ended up voting lib dem cuz i really didnt like the green party manefesto
Now however ive gotten older and relalised theyre all just as crud as each other so why waste my time voting.

green party are too concentrated on the environment for the majority to take notice (people care about hospitals, education and the such).
I like to think im very conscious of the environment, but i would also like to know i would be getting a "good deal" with the rest of the policies.
Conservatives? bunch of greasy idiots imo. margaret thatcher anyone? fo.

Why do so many younger people slag Thatcher off
? Most don't even understand what she did wrong and just as importantly, don't realise that she did a lot of things right also
Not saying she was good for the country overall by any measure, but you have to understand why someone is/isn't hated before commenting on them and can't just hate her because everyone else says you should
This isn't aimed at you specifically Pikeh, I just notice it a lot and thought I'd bring it up

Because if enough people don't vote you end up with a Dictatorship or "one-party" state? At which point those not voting would wish they had taken the time to vote.Banana wrote:

I think the best example of a people not taking enough interest in voting or what they were voting for was Germany in the 1930s, remember Hitler was elected!
However crud our politicians are today, none of them are quite that bad!
Oh I don't know, Bush's disregard for the lives of the poor and people in the middle east is making him quite a little HitlerOvi wrote:Because if enough people don't vote you end up with a Dictatorship or "one-party" state? At which point those not voting would wish they had taken the time to vote.

Sorry, should have been more specific. By "our" I meant UK politicians. Although the lack of World domination plans probably comes from the lack of power of the UK rather than personal ambition
