Me.
Playing Mid atm mostly, though. Warrior/Zerk duo in DF, Warrior/Shamie/can't remember trio in DF (actually 2 brothers the Warr/Sham). A hunter where I had to explain the most basic things, a bonedancer and a SM the same... all lvl15+..<lvl30. No alts, new player. Plus a few being on a 14day trial.
The real problem is (to my mind) that the newbies are ALONE. I try to catch them whereever I find them... do some friendly /sends - help with directions and client usage, explain STICK and stuff. Then craft some nice lowbie weapons and do sightseeing and a bit of grouping. Not for the PL factor, but the grouping itself.
Allow yourself the time to help newbies and make playing DAoC fun and they will stay and add to the player base.
You can help in forum too. Look at this thread:

I sent her a PM that wasn't answered... I hope she found some nice people...
On FH some threads for "fun" events, leveling in old zones, forming groups with all kind of lowbies, attending ALL Battlegrounds...
Well... I actually leveled my lil' Valky some days in Molvik. Ran around. Took towers or tried to take them. Never ran into another player but once - had 2 nice fights with a solo Mincer with charmed pet.
/wave at all friendly Hibs that spared me when I was in DF (met some, really) and my Valky was low-level. (And

to all that attack me when I fight DF mobs although they are much higher in level and RR and even have to cast me from behind after passing and pretending everything is fine. )
Now I am lvl44 with her and try to go to Leirvik. had 3 nice duels with Hibs yesterday there... with /bow and stuff - we broke fights before getting the final blow in. Was with a Druid and a Menta (both level 44) from Prydwen.
So... make the game enjoyable to all - old players and newbies - and we all will have a good time.
/hug all fellow Hibs
