It's the amount of time the server was down for, so it'll have to be enough.

Well , to me this is now taking the piss . GM's stated these days would be added once all chars have been fixed .
Considering all but 1 of my chars is STILL completely stripped and therefore unplayable , its a smack in the face .
Well , as i've already said , my paid subs runs out soon , i won't be renewing .

Restore time should count for something maybe.

Apparently this is what they've been sending out to people:
As you must have noticed, we had to shut down the Prydwen server for several consecutive days due to considerable technical problems. Our teams dedicated all their time and efforts to correct these problems and they are now solved. However, we are definitely aware of the disturbance triggered by this issue.
In order to allow you to catch up on your characters’ progression, the maximum help for under-populated realms has been granted to all of Prydwen’s realms until the 16th of September. Even though it was possible for the players to log in on the other English servers, we decided to offer every player owning an active English account at the date of Prydwen’s shutdown a 12 days free subscription prolongation.
We want to thank all Prydwen players for their patience and comprehension and we assure you we are doing the best we can to provide a service as optimal as possible.
Best Regards
Dark Age of Camelot

Seems that they're under the impression that everythings been fixed - which is kind of news to me, and countless others, who've been waiting since last Monday for their characters to have items returned to them.
First they tell us that the missing items only affected a very small number of players/characters; then they're constantly appealing for us to have patience while they undertake the HUGE job of restoring lost items - kind of a contradiction to their orignal statement. Now they're emailing people claiming everythings been fixed and that the compensation for the servers being down is due to run out tomorrow (when I'll still no doubt have an account full of naked characters who have been unable to take advantage of the bonuses). Oh and to top it all off, as if this wasn't enough, there are even some people who have had items restored the very same day they sent their Right Now in even though they've been submitted over a week after others are still waiting!
If this is GOA doing the best they can to resolve the problem, you'd forgive me for thinking they should stop employing extras from the Muppet Show.

I am a bit confused by this.
Let me make up a situation to explain my confusion.
My subs run out on 30th September.
My only toon does not get sorted until 28th September and is the last one to be done.
If they give the free period now, it prolongues my subs period so they run out on 12th October giving me 14 days of play.
If they give me the free period on 29th September (when all are sorted) it prolongues my subs until the 12th October and I still get 14 days of play.
Therefore why does it make a difference if they give the free period now or in 12 days time as long as it is added to your subs time to extend the days available before I need to renew ? Incidently I cannot read where it says the free period will start now.
In addition I read the note to suggest they have dealt with the technical problems which caused the downtime, it does not suggest to me they have actually restored all the toons.
If you are thinking that 12 days is not long enough or they are taking too long to restore the toons then that is a different argument. But I am just struggling to see why people are complaining about the free period being given even if it is now.
Maybe I am looking through 'rose tinted glasses' but to me they are saying:-
1. Hey there was a technical issue
2. We have fixed the issue (perhaps not all the after effects)
3. We know this screwed a lot of you up
4. In recognition of this we will be giving you a free subs period.
I kind of think we are now looking for complaints and issues at every opportunity and perhaps where there are none to be found.

Nothing can ever compensate for the suffering GoA incompetance has inflicted on thousands of innocent people! Nothing! The stress of a life without DAoC has given me acne on my chin!
