Hi All

About 10 days ago, i got a mail form Mythic saying they'd given both my US accounts 10 free days so I could come back and see what I've been missing all these months yada yada yada. The page they link to gives you a free Catacombs download, plus options to download all the other clients. You do get the option for DR but it's not free to activate, costs $19.99

Anyway, suffice to say i downloaded it and tried both my characters again and it's still a top game over there. I just wonder why GOA don't ever offer anything like this? I mean, they wouldn't lose out on too much revenue for not selling the CD's and the total subscriptions they would gain might make them a bit more cash in the long run.

Have they ever offered anything like this? As i recall, this is the second time Mythic mailed me

For people that have already subscribed though? Granted, i can get 14 days free trial and start a new account, but it doesn't say anything about re-subbing my old inactive accounts. And besides, GOA never mail me about it, despite having 2 of my email addresses since you can't use the same address on more than 1 account, lol

I think GOA should be doing this moreso than Mythic TBH. GOA lost more players, proportionally, than Mythic did and do nothing to get them back into playing the game. Add to that the fact that I really don't want to pay to find poor Hoonius naked in Ligen after that Database corruption thingy, then GOA need to do something i reckon.

Think of all the players we lost in the past 18 months. if GOA mailed them all and said "Hey, it's not all bad, come back and check it out for a week", I wonder how many would stay subbed

why are you making a big deal out of this anyway, you play on US and you seem to be happy there so good for you.
There is a 14day free trial available for ppl who want it.

No offence m8, but it's funny how people expect presents from the people/company their slagging off all the time. And from what i read in ur last post, u wouldn't even come back anyway.
After all what happened on EU servers and all the shit we had, i still kept playing for the friends i got in game. In the last months some have quit, others have come back. But in the end that's still the most important part of the game for me.

Hey man, I'm not slagging anyone off here. I'm just wondering why GOA don't offer the same thing as Mythic do is all. The database corruption is the main reason i would be mega-pissed off with the game. Mythic haven't had anything of the sort happen their end, yet they're more than willing to provide access for people, like myself, to try it again. maybe I get hooked on DAoC again, maybe I don't. 7 free days won't break the bank and if they get even 100 accounts back playing, then that's 100 mothly payments into GOA bank, whichever way you look at it.

As for presents, the 'present' is all theirs. They give you a free week, you give them 6 months subs when you realise it's still a game you like to play. They win, we get to play. As the Mythic trial has proven, i would come back so that blows your little theory out the water straight away methinks.

Jeez, you 2 need to get out more. sure, I'm happy with the US thing, I would have been happy with the Euro thing also.

My point is that Mythic offered me something twice in a row, where GOA haven't even bothered.

What confuses me more is that I'm not even having a go at either of you 2 but you seem hellbent on flaming me for asking a simple question. what gives?
