After 4 years of constant laptop use I am considering building a desktop, so I ask you geeks, what's considered shit hot these days in regards to mobo/cpu/ram?

gfx card is easy

GFX : 6800 GT ( 256 mb card, very fast bus and fast memory)
CPU : P4 3.2 or higher ( some AMD head help out here i don't know them that well)
MBD : something witha fast front side bus ( 833mhz or higher)
RAm : go dual channel so if going for 1 gig of ram make sure u get 2 x 512 sticks.

if you want specifics i could have a look around and give j00 a price and everything.

Thats ace Gamblor and more info would be great, due to some evul twist of DNS fate this is the only website I can access from work atm would be nice to get home with some clue on what to order before the missus arrives for her daily dose of loving

Nope, im my own man

she just requires my attention when I see her, which is fair enough, its a bit rude to have her visit and I go on the comp doing stuff, when I shud be doing her

besides i like my GF and enjoy spending the time with her. I feel for guys who have their gf's nag and dictate, but then why would someone get invloved in that sort of relationship?
