My conspiracy theory—the common cold...
you want us to try and convince you? Need I remind you that this is http://www.pryd.net ... a forum of Dark age of Camelot, an online game. I didnt think this was a forum for flu and cold discussions, i'm sure there are forums enough about that if you need convincing.

Well, if the forum is just about DAoC, why are there sections for other games, like Everquest, Warhammer, Anime Theatre? And surely, if there is even a section called "off topic", then that suggests that anything can be discussed? And surely, if dicussing something else was against the rules, then why have several other members joined in the discussion also?
Sounds like "pick on Gandelf time" again.
I think what Gandelf really wants is the forum at Conspiracy Planet where he can discuss things like whether the World Trade Centre was actually blown up by the US government, the moon landings were a hoax, and whether string theory is probably totally wrong. Actually I think they could be right about the last one...
That would be why u need to get a new one every year....Gandelf wrote:Once you've been vaccinated, then surely that vaccine is worthless to you in the future?
But then again, it could be part of the conspiracy theory to empty our pockets a bit more

And why the hell didn't they sell me the eternal life vaccination yet?!:'(

...Just think how rich a company would be if it DID invent a cure for the common cold. You really think one company would hold off from becoming a multi-billion pound company overnight just so that it and a few other companies could keep selling lemsips or whatever?Gandelf wrote:Just think of all the companies that would go "bust" if there were a cure for the cold.
Er, well yeah genius, that's the whole reason they recommend you go for annual flu jabs, because each one only protects against "last years" strain. Why do you think they're worried about bird flu? Because it has the potential to spread faster than they can produce enough vaccines for it due to the fact previous flu vaccines are worthless against this new strand.Gandelf wrote:And if the flu virus also has so many different strains, then surely flu vaccinations are of no use, because how can you vaccinate against a particular strain when there are so many? Once you've been vaccinated, then surely that vaccine is worthless to you in the future?
Do you often try your hardest to contradict yourself or are you really just that confused about whatever is going on in your head now? Yes of course it's morally and ethically wrong to withhold it. Although medical companies are probably some of the least ethical and moral companies in existence (animal testing and now making people's faces blow up for anyone who saw the news yesterday to cite two examples) you can guarantee there'd be someone who's conscience got the better of them and leaked to the press the fact that a cure exists and is being withheld.Gandelf wrote:but what about all those people who die from really bad colds and flu, like the elderly? If there was a permanent cure, then surely it would be morally and ethically wrong to withold it?
But the planet is drastically overpopulated by Humans. Surely it would be morally & ethically correct to develop the virus further to the point where it would keep human population levels at a safe level by killing off say ... 99% of us?Gandelf wrote:what about all those people who die from really bad colds and flu, like the elderly?
